Since opening our doors in November 2004 to the present, LIHN has provided shelter and opportunities to 65 families. These families represent 225 individuals, 139 children and 86 adults.

2005 Leadership Longview built a playground for LIHN.

2006 LIHN became a Greater Longview United Way Agency. Jack O’Diamonds Car Dealership made it possible to purchase a safe, reliable 2005 Chevy Van.

2007 LIHN received funding from Judson Lions to update the children’s playroom. A part-time Case Manager was hired June 2007 to provide professional case management to current and past guests.

2008 LIHN added Step2Success program. This program is an after-care for families who have graduated into permanent housing and follows the family for one year assessing housing retention and providing assistance where needed. In that same year, a couple donated a brand new 2007 Suzuki for the staff to transport guests to appointments. The case manager position was expanded to full-time.

2009 We are in our fifth year of service to families experiencing homelessness. Leadership Longview built a sturdier playground.

2010 We paid off the mortgage on the day facility and opened our transitional housing program.

2011 Received Cover Me Up grant to clothe 35 children.

2012 Our first Cardboard Box City.

2014 Ten Year Anniversary of Serving Families

2015 Replaced our van for a 2014 Chevy – 15 Passenger Van, Director Doris Ramaly’s 10 year employment anniversary.

2016 Because of a generous donor one of our children was able to go to Disney World for a week. We all were so excited for this rare opportunity.
